My first really solid memories of writing take place in the back, top row of the portable classroom at my Jr. High School where I traded scraps of stories with my best friend while we both ignored the choir teacher. (Sorry, Mr. Pearce!)
That’s where the skeleton of my fantasy series The Chronicles of Talahm was born.
My whole life, I’ve been characterized by friends as the “advice giver” which translated perfectly to being a coach. I’m naturally curious, a good listener, but also want what’s best for my authors, even if it’s sometimes hard to hear.
The good news? You can never “make” me feel upset.
I grew up identifying with and wishing I could be Hermione Granger. As I got older though, I realized the house system actually sucks, and my primary house(s) are actually Slytherin and Ravenclaw.
Knowledge is only potential power until you USE it. And that’s what Slytherins are good at.
How we think about our writing matters. I help authors understand and build the right mindsets for writing novels.
I take you from finishing your first draft to navigating the entire self-publishing minefield… without the stress.
Most authors we work with want to write full-time. A book business is just like any other small business, and I help navigate that.
None of this really has anything to do with being part of Tally Ink, but it does help you get to know me better!
I’ve lived with type 1 diabetes since 1995, when I was diagnosed at age 2. Since 2019 I’ve hosted a podcast about T1D called This is Type 1, co-hosted by my “camp daughter” Jessie.
My husband and I adopted a sweet black kitty in 2018 and named her Luna. She is a frequent visitor on camera during coaching calls and virtual write-ins.
I live in the Montana Rockies! Where we are in Missoula is only a 5-20 minute drive from basically any great trailhead, and that’s let me go on a ton of amazing hikes over the years.
In 2023 I started doing whole body cryotherapy + infrared sauna + leg compression, and I joined Orangetheory and a boxing gym. After years of heavy investment into mental health, I’m doing the same with physical.
